GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE NATIONAL COMPETITION

RESERVATIONS/VIOLATIONS

Only applications that meet the conditions of participation shall take part in the Young Lions competition and evaluation. This shall also apply to correct application details.

The jury reserves the right to exclude applications from the Young Lions competition if they do not comply with the conditions of participation or if the jury reaches the conclusion that the work could cause harm to the Cannes Lions, Weischer, the competition partners or the Young Lions competition. A reason for exclusion shall also be deemed to exist where there is doubt as to the originality or the authorship of the work or where there are competitive concerns.

DUTIES AND LIABILITY OF THE SUBMITTING PARTY; CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION AND EVALUATION

With confirmation of the conditions of participation the participant agrees that they have read and accepted such participation conditions.

By applying, each participant agrees with the conditions of participation and the evaluation procedure. The decision and evaluation of the jury shall be final, legal action is excluded. Arbitral award shall apply. Jury proceedings shall be deemed concluded when the result is available to the jury chairman of the Young Lions competition.

This shall also terminate the period for entering an objection to the jury result. The submitter guarantees to be contactable under the registered contact data at least until the end of July 2022 or in the event of a change to promptly notify Weischer accordingly by e-mail.

EXEMPTION FROM LIABILITY

The participants warrant that there are no third-party rights that would preclude Weischer and its competition partners from using the work created in the final as intended. They also warrant that other author will not commence proceedings against publication by Weischer and/or its competition partners. The participants guarantee that no personal rights of third parties will be infringed by use of the works as intended by Weischer and its competitive partners and portrayed above; especially that the depicted persons agree to contractual use of the works.

The participants agree to absolve Weischer and/or the competitive partners from any damages arising from third parties commencing proceedings against Weischer and/or the competition partners due to an infringement in relation to the created work that is the responsibility of the participant. Such damages to be absolved shall especially include the damages that arise for Weischer and/or the competition partners if the work cannot be utilised since third party rights prevent this.

PUBLICATION AND UTILISATION RIGHTS

All award-winning works may be published on Weischer websites and via various social media channels to present the submitted works to as broad an audience as possible.

Participants grant Weischer a simple, non-exclusive, temporally and geographically unlimited right of use to the concepts they develop for the competition final. Weischer shall be entitled to grant sublicenses hereto to third parties.

Should they use third party materials in their work, the participants guarantee that they have obtained consent from the respective rights holders to the use of these elements by Weischer and/or the competition partners in the context of the above forms of publication and that they can effectively grant Weischer and/or the competition partners the rights mentioned above.
